Real Fakes exist as voice for black women and women of color in comedy. Historically, comedy has been a man’s world and we’re here to add to the funny. Our crew is predominantly women and people of color; 100% independent.

My name is Astin, and I rock.
I’ve been a rock Singer. A poet. A music journalist, Freelance writer. I’ve worked in the Film Industry for almost 8 years, customer service for 10. I love people. I love unity. I love being Black. People think I’m nice until I’m honest - dry wit is my coveted superpower.
Astin’s musical films “Letters from a Transient” and “Love Soliloquy” have screened at multiple festivals and received accolades from the likes of ForHarriet and WomenDirect. She currently offers her services as a Casting Associate, and Writing PA.
Etta East
director
Etta East is an Atlanta, GA based writer & director. She has a background in Journalism but evolved her passion for writing into Film. Her writing studies led her to being accepted into a film program in France during the Canne Film Festival, the biggest Film Festival in the world, in which a film she penned won best film w/ the Creative Mind Group, a popular film program. Also, in 2019, she co-founded and launched a non-profit community for filmmakers beyond the screen called Film Family.
Rose Ashikyan

Rose is a first generation Armenian-American born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She has worked in the film Industry for 10+ years. Her award winning films have screened at film festivals around the world such as Japan, Nigeria, Paris, and India.
Ceci Leon
producer
Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., Ceci has always been eager to merge her love of people and the creative arts in her hometown. For 8 years, she has worked for several non-profit organizations aimed to support Atlanta's film industry. Currently, Ceci also serves as the Operations Manager for the Atlanta Film Society and works as a freelance producer (shorts + web series) in the Atlanta area.
